Full stack developer resume example

A full stack developer builds both the part of an application users see and the server side behind it. One morning you might fix a form that breaks on mobile, then write an API endpoint, adjust a database migration and review a colleague's pull request in the afternoon.

Typical French stacks include React or Vue with Node.js, PHP with Symfony or Laravel (still very present in France), or Python with Django. You work in sprints with a product owner and designers, and in smaller teams you also handle deployment, monitoring and part of the hosting. Where you work shapes the job: a startup expects you to ship features quickly, an agency switches you between client projects, and an ESN (IT services company) may place you on a client's team for months.

Summaries for your profile

Entry level

Graduate of the Concepteur Développeur d'Applications programme, with a year of work-study in a web agency. I built features for client sites in React and Node.js, wrote tests and handled small deployments. My projects are on GitHub at [link].

Career change

Former logistics planner retrained through an intensive web development bootcamp. I bring knowledge of supply chain processes, which I used for my final project: a delivery scheduling tool built with Vue.js and Laravel.

Tips

  • Put your main stack in the headline so recruiters filtering by keyword find you.
  • Link to a GitHub or portfolio with one or two projects you can explain in detail.
  • Describe features you built, not just technologies you have touched.
  • Mention the context: startup, agency, ESN, in-house team, and team size.
  • Give your RNCP title or degree, which French employers read as a level of training.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Listing twenty technologies with no indication of level.
  • Using skill bars or percentages that mean nothing to a technical reader.
  • Forgetting to explain your personal projects' purpose.
  • Leaving out your remote work preferences when the ad mentions it.

Working as a full stack developer in France

Developer jobs are not regulated in France. Recognised routes include the BTS SIO, the BUT informatique, engineering school or university master's degrees, and RNCP professional titles such as Développeur Web et Web Mobile (DWWM) or Concepteur Développeur d'Applications (CDA), often taken in work-study. Many developers are employed by ESNs that place them with clients, and freelancing through micro-entreprise or portage salarial is common. Teams in Paris, Lyon, Nantes, Bordeaux and Lille often work partly remotely. Search for "développeur full stack", "développeur web", "développeur JavaScript", "développeur PHP Symfony" or the English title.

Frequently asked questions

Is a degree required to work as a full stack developer in France?

No, but employers look at training. Many developers hold a BTS SIO, a BUT in computer science, an engineering degree or an RNCP title such as Développeur Web et Web Mobile or Concepteur Développeur d'Applications. Bootcamp graduates are hired too, especially with a solid portfolio.

Should I write my résumé in English?

Startups and international companies in France often accept English, and many tech teams work in English. Agencies, ESNs and traditional companies usually prefer French. If you are not fluent in French, say so clearly and target teams that work in English.

How should I present personal projects?

Give each project one or two lines: what problem it solves, the stack, and what you built yourself. Add a link to the code or a live demo. Recruiters prefer one finished project with tests to five abandoned tutorials.
