Working as a sales representative in France
Search for commercial, commerciale, commercial terrain, commercial sédentaire, chargé d'affaires, business developer or account executive in tech companies. The job is not regulated and no diploma is required, though the BTS NDRC, the BUT Techniques de commercialisation and business school programmes are the usual routes, often in work-study. Some reps have the VRP status, a specific French regime for traveling sales staff. Pay combines a fixed salary and a variable part defined in the contract, so read the commission plan carefully. Field roles nearly always require a driving licence; non-EU licences may need to be exchanged for a French one after a period of residence.
