Working as a storekeeper in France

In France, search for magasinier or magasinière, magasinier cariste, magasinier vendeur (car parts, building materials), gestionnaire de stock or réceptionnaire. No diploma is legally required, but common routes are the CAP Opérateur/opératrice logistique, the Bac pro Logistique and the Titre professionnel Agent magasinier. Employers often expect a CACES R489 (category 1, 3 or 5) because storekeepers frequently drive forklifts, which also requires a driving authorisation from the employer. Many jobs are in industrial sites, distribution platforms and trade branches. Knowing French product names and reading delivery documents in French is part of the job.

How to read these figures

The salary shown is an average, not a median: a few high salaries pull the average up. It is net pay before income tax, converted to full time.

The gross figure is an estimate: it applies 2026 employee contributions for a private-sector worker to the net salary. It leaves out bonuses, overtime and health insurance.

Salaries are from 2024 while the minimum wage is the 2026 one, so the comparison gives an order of magnitude.
