Working as a florist in France
In France, search for fleuriste, fleuriste décorateur or vendeur en fleurs. The profession is not regulated for employees, but French employers look for the CAP fleuriste (the standard entry diploma), then the BP fleuriste or the BTM, which prepare you to run a shop. Foreign diplomas are assessed case by case, and a strong portfolio and a trial day weigh heavily. To open your own shop, you register with the Chambre de métiers et de l'artisanat. Expect early starts, Saturday and Sunday morning work, and intense periods around Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, the 1 May lily of the valley tradition and All Saints' Day in November. Conversational French is essential, since most of the job is advising customers.
How to read these figures
The salary shown is an average, not a median: a few high salaries pull the average up. It is net pay before income tax, converted to full time.
The gross figure is an estimate: it applies 2026 employee contributions for a private-sector worker to the net salary. It leaves out bonuses, overtime and health insurance.
Salaries are from 2024 while the minimum wage is the 2026 one, so the comparison gives an order of magnitude.
