Flight attendant cover letter example

Airline recruiters read letters for motivation they can believe and evidence of service and safety mindset. Avoid talking about dreams of travelling.

Show that you hold the CCA, accept the roster and base, speak the languages required, and have already kept calm with difficult customers.

Subject: Application for a cabin crew position, [Base airport]

Dear Sir or Madam,

Your recruitment of cabin crew for the [Base airport] base caught my attention, and I would like to put myself forward. I obtained my Cabin Crew Attestation in [year] at [Training centre], I hold a valid medical certificate and I speak English at a professional level, with conversational [other language].

For [x] years I worked as a receptionist in a [type of] hotel in [City], on night and weekend shifts. I checked in international guests, handled overbookings and complaints, and once coordinated the evacuation of a floor during a fire alarm with the security team. These moments taught me to give clear instructions while staying courteous.

Your network towards [destinations] and the mix of business and leisure passengers interest me, as does working on [aircraft type]. I know the job is first about safety, then about service, and that rosters change every month. I live near [Base airport] and can report for early departures.

I would be pleased to take part in your selection day.

Yours faithfully,[First name Last name][Phone number]

Frequently asked questions

Should I write my letter in English or French?

Follow the language of the advert. For French carriers, write in French unless asked otherwise; the selection process will test your English separately. For foreign airlines recruiting in France, English is usually expected.

What happens after I apply?

Airlines usually invite shortlisted candidates to a selection day with group exercises, a language test and an interview, sometimes followed by a swimming test and medical checks. Your letter should be consistent with what you will say there.

Is a seasonal contract worth applying for?

Yes. Many airlines in France hire cabin crew on fixed-term contracts for the summer season, and these often lead to new seasons or permanent posts. Say clearly in your letter that you are available for the whole season.
