Flight attendant resume example

A flight attendant in France (hôtesse de l'air or steward, officially PNC, personnel navigant commercial) is first a safety crew member, then a service provider.

Before each flight comes the briefing with the purser and the captain: aircraft type, passengers needing assistance, weather, special procedures. On board you check emergency equipment at your station, welcome passengers, manage hand luggage, demonstrate safety procedures and secure the cabin for take-off. In flight you serve meals or run the onboard sales trolley, watch the cabin, deal with a nervous passenger or a medical problem, and step in when someone refuses to follow crew instructions. On short-haul low-cost routes you may do four sectors in a day with quick turnarounds; on long-haul you work nights, cross time zones and stay over at the destination. Rosters change monthly and include weekends and holidays.

Tips

  • Put your CCA, medical certificate and aircraft types at the top of the resume.
  • Give each language with a realistic level and any test score airlines ask for, such as TOEIC.
  • Highlight customer service jobs where you handled conflict, crowds or emergencies.
  • Add first aid certificates and swimming ability, as some airlines test it.
  • Use a professional photo in a neutral outfit; French carriers still often expect one.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Presenting the job only as travel and glamour.
  • Exaggerating language levels that will be tested in interview.
  • Omitting the CCA issue date or the training centre.
  • A two-page resume full of unrelated details.

Working as a flight attendant in France

Search for hôtesse de l'air, steward, PNC (personnel navigant commercial), membre d'équipage de cabine and, for senior roles, chef de cabine. You must hold the CCA (certificat de membre d'équipage de cabine), prepared in an approved training centre, plus a medical fitness certificate and a badge for airport restricted zones issued after a background check by the prefecture. You must be at least eighteen, and most French airlines ask for the baccalauréat or equivalent. English is required, and airlines often test it. A CCA from another EASA country is recognised, and airlines add their own type training.

Frequently asked questions

Can I work for a French airline with a CCA from another country?

A CCA issued in another EASA member state is recognised in France. Each airline then trains you on its own procedures and aircraft types. A CCA issued outside the EASA system is not automatically valid; check with the airline whether you need to take the French or another European attestation.

Do I need to speak French?

For French airlines, yes in most cases, because announcements and many passengers are French. Some foreign carriers based at French airports mainly require English plus French as a second language. State both levels clearly.

Should I include non-aviation jobs?

Yes. Recruiters look for proof of customer service, teamwork and resistance to pressure. Jobs in hotels, restaurants, retail, care or events show exactly that if you describe the situations you handled.
