Working as a metal fabricator in France
Métallier is not a regulated trade, but French employers look for a CAP métallier, a Bac pro ouvrages du bâtiment: métallerie, a BP métallier or the Titre professionnel métallier. Welding qualifications under ISO 9606 are often required, and CACES certificates for aerial platforms or forklifts are frequently asked for site installation. Search « métallier », « serrurier métallier », « métallier soudeur », « métallier poseur » or « charpentier métallique » for structural steel. Temp agencies place many métalliers, which is a common way in for foreign candidates.
