Working as a site supervisor in France
Search for chef de chantier, chef de chantier gros œuvre, chef de chantier TCE (all trades), chef de chantier VRD or TP for roads and utilities, and chef d'équipe for the level below. The role is not regulated, but employers expect solid site experience plus a qualification such as a BTS Bâtiment, a BTS Travaux publics or a titre professionnel Chef de chantier. Site supervisors usually hold ETAM status (technicians and supervisors) under the construction industry collective agreements. Supervisors working near buried networks need the AIPR at supervisor level, and fluent French is essential for briefings, safety plans and site meetings.
